Well, it looks like our speculating was right!  Madame Web’s prediction is set to come true in the newly announced “Spider-Verse” storyline announced today by Dan Slott and Scott Lowe that will begin in November 2014.  The subtitle to the event is “Every Spider-Man Ever!” and it looks set to deliver on that notion, just from the preview art from Gabrielle Dell’Otto:

The book will kick off in Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) #9, by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel, and continue through that book for six issues and other, soon-to-be-revealed titles.  Readers will get their first taste of what the series has to offer in a back-up story in Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day title in May.

“This is every Spider-Man ever teaming up, or fighting each other,” Slott has said, specifically stating that this means multiple universes, including ones where previously dead Spider-Men are alive and well (this could mean the inclusion of Ben Reilly, Ultimate Peter Parker, etc.).

Perhaps this is what Tom Breevort was referring to when he said we were “thinking way too small.”

There is so much new information on this title that has been revealed through an interview by CBR that I suggest that you go and read it there.  However I will outline a few highlights from the release:

Marvel is so serious about the series that artist Olivier Coipel is already working on the artwork for the book, even though it is being released in November.

The series will feature new Spider-Men that readers have never seen before.

The “initial antagonist” of the story is Morlun, who is “part of an even bigger thing.”  Morlun killed Spider-Man back during “The Other” storyline and he is set to continue doing the same here.

The Free Comic Book Day story features Morlun and “1602 Spider-Man,” who will most likely die to preview the consequences of the “Spider-Verse.”

Slott named several of the characters in the Dell’Otto image: “I see Mangaverse Spider-Man. ‘Bullet Points’ Spider-Man. I even see a certain Miles from the Ultimate Universe. There are Spider-Men from ‘What If?’ stories. There’s ‘1602.’ There’s Spider-Ham! Do I see the MC2 Spider-Girl?” “You’re damn right,” Lowe answered.

The story will cross through multiple dimensions and display what each dimensions New York City is like, including the different versions of Spider-Man’s supporting cast.

Spider-Man of the “Ultimate Spider-Man” tv show will appear in the comic, but not “Spectacular Spider-Man” because it is co-owned by Sony.

Slott conceived of this idea when writing the “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions” video game.

Slott won’t reveal if “Spider-Verse” will include the return of “Superior Spider-Man.”

Slott wanted to include a talking Spider-Mobile called “Peter Parked Car” but was told “no.”

“Spider-Verse” is not a sequel to “Spider-Men,” which Bendis will be handling.  However, Miles will remember that he met Peter.

Looks like this fall will be another busy time for Spider-Man fans.  Will Peter ever have a moment to fight criminals in a normal fashion like he did during the good-ol’-days?  Are you excited for “Spider-Verse?”
