If you are not familiar with Marvel’s Infinite imprint, you are missing out on something pretty special. Launched in early 2012 with a tie-in to Avengers vs. X-Men #1, the digital only Infinite Comics present comic book reading experiences that “take advantage of the digital format with techniques that would not be possible in a print comic, like dynamic panel transitions and captions or dialogue boxes that appear sequentially on an image at the prompting of the reader.”

4954669-w+silk_spidey_cvrThis coming January, Marvel is releasing a new Inifinite Comic series, featuring reader’s favorite wall-crawler teaming up with fellow arachnid Silk. It should make for an interesting story considering the two aren’t exactly seeing eye-to-eye these All-New All-Different days, what with Ms. Moon currently swinging toward the darker side and partnering with Spidey’s scorned former lover, Ms. Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat.

In a recent interview with Comic Vine, Robbie Thompson (who has writing duties on the title, with Todd Nauck doing the art) gives us some details on the upcoming digital book. Robbie tells Comic Vine that the story involves a stolen piece of HYDRA tech and time travel. How can you go wrong with a combination like that?

He also confirms that this story takes place within the current Marvel Universe continuity, not as a “What If?” or alternate reality thing:

“Peter is CEO (of Parker Industries) and Silk is undercover – and it’s been fun to explore how that dynamic has changed the both of them. Our story actually takes place during the events of issue three of Silk, so there will be some fun overlaps for folks that have read that issue.”

When asked about Nauck’s art for the series, Thompson said:

“I have seen Todd’s art and it is incredible! He’s really taken every moment in the plot and added so much vigor and detail. You can tell he’s having a ton of fun drawing it and I can’t wait for people to see his work.”

We get to see a sneak peak of some pre-colored artwork from the series that looks pretty amazing. If this preview is anything to go by, this eight chapter digital book is shaping up to be something to look forward to.
