Due to a premature shipment, a few of the Spider-Books that were set for a January 6th release are coming to your local Comic shop early; Marvel has given the green-light, and you can pick up the effected titles THIS Friday.

ASM2015006covYou guys remember when Peter used to be late to everything? He’s turning his life around and must be taking his New Year’s Resolution seriously!

Comic retailers were told that Amazing Spider-Man #6, Spider-Man 2099 #5, and Spidey #2 are set for their new release date on New Years Day – but that’s not all. Apparently some issues that would have released on the 13th will now be made available on the 6th. That last batch includes the spider-books Amazing Spider-Man #1.2, Spider-Gwen #4, and a second printing of Spider-Woman #1.

“Marvel apologizes for any inconvenience and is working with the printer to ensure that similar situations will not occur in the future,” said an unnamed Diamond spokesperson. Retailers are asked to contact their Diamond representative with any questions.

Marvel has tried to find the silver lining with attempts to wave the mistake off – wishing fans a Happy New Year’s in this tweet:

However… this hasn’t made all fans happy, especially retailers – as is evident from the comments left on the tweet.

SM20992015005_covRemember: Not all shops will open up on a national holiday. However, ComiXology has made a statement that they plan to have all the early issues up by Friday afternoon. So you may not be able to download Spider-Man 2099 #5 right after the ball drops in Times Square, but you’ll have it before the hangover goes away.

Be sure to call your shop ahead of time; even if you do have to wait until Saturday, it’s still a pretty early start to another year of adventure-packed Spider-Man stories – Excelsior!
