Filming for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” has started in Atlanta, Georgia, and while Marvel has yet to announced the start of principal photography we are already seeing set photos popping up on the Internet.
First off, after filming wrapped for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” James Gunn and Chris Pratt popped by the set of “Homecoming” to wish Tom Holland well as he continues his amazing journey as the webbed wonder.
We also get a couple more pics showing Holland in a (very Peter Parker looking) sweater/plaid button-up combo, but it’s not just the young superhero kicking around the set. There are images of Zendaya (of Nickelodian fame) as female lead Michelle and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” star Tony Revolori as Manuel.

Perhaps the coolest photo so far is of Holland wearing a Midtown School of Science and Technology sweatshirt. In a very cool shootout to the origin of Spidey, an “Established 1962” banner can be seen at the bottom of the Midtown logo, an homage to the year Amazing Fantasy #15 came out.
Some awesome photos indeed, but no sign of the red, black and blue… yet. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the costumed Spider-Man will be practical and how much will be CGI. For those that didn’t know the entirity of Spidey’s appearance in the airport fight scene (minus the part with his mask off and Holland’s face could be seen) was completely CGI.
Tom Holland, Zendaya and Tony Revolori will be joined by an ever-increasing cast (including Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Micheal Keaton, Donald Glover…) when “Spider-Man: Homecoming” swings into theaters next summer.
