Long-time Amazing Spider-Man penciller, Giuseppe Camuncoli, will be leaving the series. Taking his place is Superboy and World’s Finest vet R.B. Silva. Spidey fans may remember his work from a couple of issues of Spider-Man and the X-Men last year and more recently issue #9 of Venom: Space Knight. Camuncoli fans will be able to see more from him when Image Comics’ Green Valley #1 debuts on October 5.

Amazing_Spider-Man_Vol_4_17_TextlessCamuncoli has penciled over 50 issues featuring Spider-Man, beginning with Amazing Spider-Man #663 after which he became a series mainstay, often filling in for other artists that missed their schedules and delivering multiple issue a month.

UPDATE: Turns out that Camuncoli will not be leaving the title. The vaguely worded press release did not clarify that he was only taking two issues off to get caught up with his work on issue #19, where he will return.

In other news, Marvel has informed comic book retailers that multiple “Civil War” and tie-in titles release dates will be pushed back. Civil War II #5 is pushed from August 15th to August 31st, Civil War II: Amazing Spider-Man #3 from August 3rd to August 17th and Captain Marvel #8 from August 3rd to August 24th.

In addition, Ms. Marvel #10 and #11 are being pushed to August 31st (a three week delay) and September 28th (a two week delay) respectively, while Silver Surfer #6 has a much more drastic seven week delay, to its new date of August 31st, causing issue #7 to be moved to September 28th and #8 to October 24th.

Marvel has not given a reason for these delays.
