Ever since Sam Raimi decided to walk away from the director’s chair on Spider-Man 4, leaving Sony to reboot the series as The Amazing Spider-Man, fans of the character have heard story after story about the planned sequel and what it might have looked like. Early scripts and interviews with cast and creative talent have discussed the inclusion of the Vulture as the villain, played by John Malkovich (not Michael Keaton), and Felicia Hardy as the Vulturess, played by Anne Hathaway; the latter role being one of the main reasons director Sam Raimi decided to leave the series.

In the decade since the film was scrapped fans have been curious what the fourth installment of the series may have looked like and thanks to award-winning illustrator and writer Jeffrey Henderson, we’ve got our first look at what the final film may have looked like. Jeffrey Henderson was a storyboard artist for the film and on his website he uploaded some of his work for the film.

The released images seem to portray five different scenes from the film, two fights with the Vulture, high over the city streets, and another of Spider-Man apprehending a visibly overweight Mysterio as several police officers mock the villain, one of Peter likely discovering the Vulturess costume, and another of some sort of public press conference. If rumors were true, it was suggested that Bruce Campbell would have made his once-a-movie cameo as Mysterio and we are getting a first-hand look at a likely comedic scene, very much in the vein of the numerous police headquarters sequences from the “Ultimate Spider-Man” comic series.
