In case you missed the news, Marvel has been adding cast-members for Spider-Man: Homecoming left and right, bringing the full cast up to eleven so far; including Robert Downey Jr. reprising his previous Iron Man role, and Michael Keaton in a villain role for the film.

kenneth-choi-premiere-the-wolf-of-wall-street-013295099-principal+davisThe first in a recent blitz of casting was Kenneth Choi – who will reportedly be playing Peter Parker’s Principal.

Choi is most known from his role in in FX’s The People vs. O.J. Simpson as Judge Lance Ito. Additionally Choi will be the first actor to play two roles within the Disney MCU – having also played a POW-turned-ally who helped Captain America out in Captain America: The First Avenger, also making an appearance as the same character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Kenneth will likely be a powerful force in this movie, good or bad, that will remind us of the daily struggles that a high school Peter would be facing.

You may know Michael Barbieri from only this mention of him, as his career is relatively short. He was Tony Calvelli in Little Men (2016) had a brief appearance in Killer (2016).

Barbieri was reportedly playing an alternate version of Ganke despite the fact that he doesn’t seem quite right as a representation of the comic visual that we are used to. Suspicions and angry blogger’s fingers flew as news of Ganke being cast spread – until our Homecoming director, Jon Watts himself, set the record straight:

So yeah – your guess is as good as mine. My guess is Harry if you wanted to know. You decide how good that is.

Actor Donald Glover attends the world premiere for "The Martian” on day two of the Toronto International Film Festival at the Roy Thomson Hall, Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 in Toronto. NASA scientists and engineers served as technical consultants on the film. The movie portrays a realistic view of the climate and topography of Mars, based on NASA data, and some of the challenges NASA faces as we prepare for human exploration of the Red Planet in the 2030s. Donald Glover has joined the cast as an undisclosed character. We already did a fantastic write up HERE if you want all the details.

Donald Glover has been everything from a writer to a very successful musician – but perhaps he is most known from his role on the alarmingly hilarious show: Community. I assure you, this guy is funny; although Marvel has been completely silent on his role… let not his comedic timing be in dispute.

And oh yeah… he also played Miles Morales in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon! Such a renewal of the Miles character is unlikely here (he’s too old for the role, guys) but he’s sure to be a welcome and entertaining addition to the Homecoming crew regardless.

Martin+Starr+2016+Breakthrough+Prize+Ceremony+Sfn61qiROERlMartin Starr was announced to be playing an as-of-yet completely undefined role.

Martin is known for his performance of Bertram Gilfoyle in Silicon Valley. He has made small cameos in New GirlHow I Met Your Mother, and “computer Nerd” in The Incredible Hulk.

We have no idea who he could be playing. Seriously, help me in the comments. Wild guess? Uncle Ben? Huh… I could see that. (Not)

MV5BMTgwNTY2OTI3MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDc1MTg4Nw@@._V1_UX214_CR0,0,214,317_AL_Logan Marshall-Green has been cast in a villainous role… a secret villainous role…

Logan is well-known for his roles in Prometheus (2012) and Devil (2010). His talent is commendable and the jokes about him looking like Tom Hardy are numerous.

I mean… technically we don’t even know who Michael Keaton will play in Homecoming. Logan also remains a mystery… with possible characters ranging from Doctor Octopus all the way to Mysterio. Ultimately, the identities of the film’s sinister characters are too far away to guess, but that won’t stop me from imagining Logan with Osborn hair…

That’s all the recent updates! You can view the previous casting information below – and don’t forget to keep your eyes here for updated cast news!

marisa-tomei-2016-vanity-fair-oscar-party-2f7596441e6b15ad84e3ea4abcb6c547bMarisa Tomei was the second person cast in the not-yet-titled Spider-Man: Homecoming movie.

Having been a successful actress for over three decades, most will know Marisa Tomei from her many diverse roles over the years: including My Cousin Vinny and Anger Management, all the way to a cameo in The Simpsons and her recent role in Crazy Stupid Love.

The casting choice provoked criticisms from fans that the 50 year-old actress was too young to play the Parker Aunt. Although she is16 years younger than Sally Field‘s recent portrayal of Aunt May – recent successful interpretations of May have been significantly younger, notably the Ultimate and Spectacular versions (television).

zendaya-coleman-at-boris-and-nicole-show-in-los-angeles-07-27-2015_1Singer/actress Zendaya Coleman was the next casting announcement – her arrival starting much debate over her role in the film, and what character she plays.

Zendaya is well known among the younger Disney Channel crowd, with lead roles in Shake It Up and K.C. Undercover. She also has established her career as a young singer in such singles as “Replay,” and “Something New.”

It is unclear if Coleman is playing an established character in the form of a brief roommate Peter had in the comics, or if this is a new character entirely. We DO know “…she will play a character named Michelle. Nobody is providing details on whether this is the romantic lead opposite Peter Parker, but it doesn’t sound like it…” (Deadline)

Apple+Store+Soho+Presents+Meet+Filmmakers+o2B6QspdByplTony Revolori was announced to be joining the cast as an unspecified, but central character in a now familiar trend for this movie’s casting news.

Revolori has had a short but successful film career in movies such as Dope (2015). Our own film critic (and Spider-Talk Host), Dan Gvozden had high praise for Tony’s performance in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

When news of Tony Revolori being cast first hit the interwebs, speculation flew that he might be playing Flash Thompson. “Revolori will play Peter Parker’s nemesis/enemy at high school, but isn’t a super villain.” (Deadline) That certainly sounds like Flash, or maybe a modern version of him – but only time will tell.

Laura-HarrierActress Laura Harrier is the latest confirmed casting in Homecoming – in a roll only described as “Significant” by Marvel and Sony at the time of this article’s posting.

Laura is best known for her role in One Life to Liveas Destiny Evans. She was also in 4th Man Out (an indie comedy) and The Last 5 Years (a musical).

We have absolutely no idea who Harrier will portray. Is she a new character? A new version of someone we have seen before? Liz Allan? Marvel and Sony representatives are not saying yet – but we will update you when so much as a name drops for this last in a long string of exciting castings. She follows the trend of the rest of the cast so far: much younger actresses and actors than we are accustomed to – but with an undeniable talent and spark that seems to be the driving inspiration for Homecoming.

Keaton has had a long career, having been in everything from Batman to Spotlight  – but he is still most known recently for his leading role in Birdman for whichhe received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

The Vulture rumors are STRONG with this one. But Heroic Hollywood this is not – so I can’t tell you for sure. Honestly… it seems like someone with Keaton’s talent could do a mean take on the Vulture – but I’m sure he will knock any character out of the park. I’ll leave all the speculation to you fine folks.
