First Look at the Shocker From “Spider-Man: Homecoming”

There’s been no shortage of photos coming from the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” but as of yet, the only character we’ve seen in non-civilian attire is the webbed wonder himself. That may have changed as recently images that seemingly show Bokeem Woodbine in his full Shocker costume. Whether it’s legit or not hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, and the images all show the person with a mask, so we can’t confirm their identity and it’s not like they are showing Spidey and Shocker duking it out or anything, either. Some have speculated that it may just be somebody cosplaying Shocker (though, who would want to do that?).

Here are the images so you can judge for yourself:

One has to imagine that this decidedly unpolished version of the Shocker could be being presented in the film in the same manner as he was in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. In that series the Shocker was a reoccurring villain that was easily dispatched over at least one-hundred issues, only for him to later pose a threat, amplified by his anger at continually being captured by Spider-Man.

So far, it’s been speculated that there will be multiple villians (three to be presise) in “Homecoming”, much like another Spider-Man movie that some would prefer to pretend didn’t exist. While we know from the description of footage from the trailer that was shown at SDCC 2016 and from concept art that one (and possibly the main) antagonist will be the Vulture (speculated to be played by Michael Keaton), it’s also been rumored that the film will feature the Tinkerer and the aforemnetioned Shocker. We can only hope that Marvel Studios can manage so many villains better than has been done in the past.
