We’re halfway through The Clone Conspiracy and Marvel just dropped a major bombshell in regards to the future of the title. Starting with the double-sized Amazing Spider-Man #25, Stuart Immonen will take over on-going art duties for Amazing Spider-Manaccording to Comicbook.com. That’s going to be March, before any of you start breaking out your calendars to check the date. Before tackling the main title, Immonen will also perform art duties for one of the two stories found in The Clone Conspiracy: Omega – also released in March – that will establish the new status quo. Immonen is no stranger to Spider-Man, having served as artist for Ultimate Spider-Man from #111 to #133 after Mark Bagley left the title.

Editor Nick Lowe teased a few upcoming details about post The Clone Conspiracy Spider-Man, saying it’s really going to play into Immonen’s talent with design by showcasing “a lot of spider tech.” A more tech-based Norman Osborn will also be stepping into the lime light, following through with plot threads started back in Amazing Spider-Man vol 4. #2 and #4. Mockingbird, also someone who was fairly prominent in the first few issues only to take the back seat, will be featured in Amazing Spider-Man #25 and come back into the title “in a big way.” So for those of you out there wondering when Slott was going to re-incorporate some of the elements that he started this volume with… stay tuned.
