Spidey may be getting his own live-action film in 2017, and then an animated film in 2018 – but that’s almost two years away! Fear not, as Marvel has you covered with the announcement of Ultimate Spider-Man vs The Sinister 6 – gracing small screens everywhere in 2016.
Disney XD is renewing Ultimate Spider-Man for its fourth season; if Marvel sticks with the 26 episode formula of the first three seasons, Ultimate will have an impressive 104 episodes under its belt (more than ANY other Spider-Man cartoon). To give you an idea of the sheer volume in comparison to previous interpretations – Ultimate Spider-Man will have exactly the same amount of episodes as Spider-Man the Animated Series– (65 episodes), Spider-Man Unlimited-(13 episodes), and Spectacular Spider-Man– (26 episodes)… combined.
“These series have been the heart and soul of Marvel Animation for several seasons and, thanks to Marc and his top-notch crew at Disney XD, we’re thrilled to bring our fans more episodes of what they’ve been clamoring for,” said Stephen Wacker, Vice President, Current Series, Marvel Animation Studios. “It’s a testament to the hard work and creative effort of our production and writing teams that Marvel’s animation slate continues to roll onwards and upwards.”
