On today’s show, Mark and Dan talk about the greatest swine in all of Spider-Man comics: no, not Razorback. Spider-Ham! In the mid-80s Marvel launched a new line of kid-friendly comics called Star Comics. The star of Star Comics was Spider-Ham, an anthropomorphized pig who fought crime dressed as Spider-Man and an unexpected hit character that enjoyed his own run of stories, languished in obscurity as a curiosity and recently re-emerged back into the spotlight as a cultural phenomenon. Plus, special guest and Spider-Ham co-creator TOM DEFALCO!

If you’d like to follow along with our discussion by reading about Spider-Ham, we will be discussing Marvel Tails starring Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham #1 and Peter Porker: The Spectacular Spider-Ham #1-17. These comics can be fairly hard to find in print, but luckily they are all available on Marvel Unlimited and were collected in a trade and digital collection as Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham: The Complete Collection, which is easily found on Amazon.
